Events 2007 - Fall in Light Event - A Tribute To Jeff Buckley

The night of the 2007 Fall in Light Event was a huge success. Two fantastic shows were performed. The first was the Student Matinee Performance followed in the evening by the Jeff Buckley Tribute event.
All the students who took part in the matinee performance showed incalculable enthusiasm as they reveled in performing at a well-known live music venue. There was variety of acts from 4 Melbourne and regional schools; Thomastown SC duo; Chelsea & Tina, Preston Girls SC; ‘The White Lies’, Melton SC; ‘Scattered’ and Grovedale College; ‘Vinyl’. Each school were all very well received., offering a different genre of music.
The evening saw the event go to a new level with four amazing performances by Nic, Kate, Dom & Dan. The performances were supported by rare footage of Jeff and a special video message to the fans at The Forum from Jeff’s mother, Mary Guibert. Footage included Merri Cyr’s personal mini-movie, Road Diaries and an exclusive viewing of the recently released video single of Hallelujah.
Both auction items, Merri Cyr’s print and a guitar signed by internationally renowned band, Jet, brought much needed funds to the Foundation.
The night would not have been the immense success it was with out the team at the Fall in Light Foundation Inc. Special mentions must be made for the efforts of Jo & Gino Di Marco, Sally Trewin, Steve Wragg, Matt Bradshaw & Arthur Giamalidis (co-hosts), Kylie Villella, Sagi Simchon, Roi Ben Artzi, Lauren Armstrong, Liz Chandler, Simon Stav & Matt Carroll, Andrew Tennison, Ben Lee and the Forum tech crew.
A special mention to Tim McLean (Sony BMG Australia) and Jack Bookbinder (Jeff Buckley Music USA) for their merchandise contributions and financial support (Sony BMG) for the DVD viewing.
